Former minister B Ramanath Rai to do Padyatra on Jan 14,15,16

Puttur: Congress party has decided to protest the unfinished highway work along Mangaluru-Bengaluru which has been left halfway and the merger of Vijaya bank, said Shakuntala Shetty, former Puttur MLA speaking with the presspersons here.
The work on widening the national highway from Mangaluru to Bengaluru has to take place from B c Road to Addahole. But the contractor to whom the work was awarded has left the work halfway. Due to this, the travelers along the highway are suffering unnecessarily. Therefore, a ‘Padyatra’ protest will be taken from Nelyady to B C Road on January 14, 15 and 16 under the leadership former minister B Ramanath Rai demanding the work to be started immediately and more number of people must participate in the protest, she requested.
Speaking on the merger of the Vijaya Bank which is the district’s prominent bank with the Bank of Baroda, the former MLA said that protest will be held in front of all the Vijaya Banks on January 10th. The MLA also informed that a special programme will be held proclaiming Chatrapati Shivaji as a secular leader on Jan 12th.
