Bengaluru: A 30-year-old rowdy was stabbed to death by his childhood friend on Wednesday, January 16 after he questioned his friend for spitting on him in Cottonpet.
The deceased is Sathya, a resident of Anjanappa Garden near Cottonpet. The accused Prashanth is currently absconding and police have launched a manhunt to trace him. Both are listed as history-sheeters with Cottonpet police.
The incident took place when Sathya was standing near his house along with his friends making plans for his second daughter’s birthday party. Prashant who came back from work spat on the footpath and a speck of spit fell on Sathya, following which Sathya questioned Prashanth and asked him to apologise. However, Prashanth was not apologetic and his irked Sathya, who in turn assaulted him. Meanwhile, Prashanth pulled out a knife and stabbed Sathya.
Both Sathya and Prashanth are listed as history-sheeters with Cottonpet police and the duo was released 15 days ago on bail in connection with a dacoity case, informed police sources.
