Derogatory FB post against Udupi CMC member: man arrested

Udupi: The city cyber crime police apprehended a person, accused of posting derogatory posts on Facebook through a fake profile.

The arrested, Madhu Mohan Raj (37) a native of Kuttikal in Kasaragod is currently residing in Anjaru village. 

It is gathered that Madhumohan had opened a Facebook account in the name of Sneha Suresh and used to post derogatory and offensive posts through this account. On January 16,  Madhumohan had posted an insulting article on city municipal council member Girish Anchan whereafter the latter filed a complaint with the police on January 17.

Acting on his complaint, the cyber crime police personnel arrested Madhumohan from his residence on January 19 and produced him before the court which remanded him to judicial custody till February 2.
