Auto driver offers 24/7 free rides to pregnant women

Kalaburgi: An auto driver in Shanthi Nagar has taken u[p a noble initiative by providing free 24/7 transport service to pregnant women to reach to the hospital in times of emergency.

Malikarju has been providing free rides to pregnant women times of emergency and so far has helped more than 100 pregnant women through his free of cost service.

He has four autos on which he has clearly mentioned his mobile number and details regarding 24/7 free commuting services he provides to pregnant women at the time of need to reach the hospital.

Recalling an incident that motivated him to start the service he said that five years ago his pregnant sister faced problem in going hospital as there was no ambulance here. So he decided to take up this service. The number is written behind his auto, people call him up when they need an auto, he added.
