Kadambu: Fight between groups; police forces deployed

- Illegal transport of cattle alleged
Vittal: As the police were reaching Kadambu in Vittalpadnur after receiving information in connection to illegal transportation of cattle, two groups had already gathered people and started a fight. The police have arrested the leaders of Bajrang Dal and PFI on the charges of obstructing police from discharging duty.
When the police had reached the location after receiving information on illegal transport of cattle, there was no vehicle nor the cattle. During investigation, they located two buffaloes at one of the inner roads, but the vehicle was not found. That is when the workers of Bajrang Dal arrived.
Gathering people at the location where the buffaloes were found, an argument broke out. When the police chased them, the groups met at Kadambu junction and fought. It is said that the leaders of the groups manhandled each other. Additional police forces reached the spot, conducted a lathi charge and arrested the leaders.
SP Laxmi Prasad, ASP Saidulla Adavat, CI Nagaraj, Vittal SI Yallappa and staff stayed at the location. A KSRP platoon has been deployed here as a security measure and vehicles are being inspected.
Buffaloes at the house gate
The police who were searching for the cattle located two buffaloes tied to a gate in front of a house. It is said that when the police questioned, the people in the house gave an answer out frustration. Finally, investigation needs to be conducted on who brought the cattle, from where did they bring it and to where ere they being transported.
Police security at hospital
A leader who has been admitted in the hospital for injuries sustained during the incident is suspected to be the main accused for the incident. Police security has been provided at the hospital to ensure, he does not escape.
Three cases booked
Based on the complaint given by two persons belonging to the same community, admitted at a hospital, the police have registered a case. Besides, cases have also been booked in connection to obstructing police from discharging duty and attempt to illegally kill cattle. Thus, three separate cases have been booked in connection to the incident ad tams have been created to nab the accused.
Operation using video
“The argument between two groups has led to the fight. The timely intervening by the police helped in controlling it. The video of the location has been received based on which the investigation will be conducted. Already, three cases have been booked under separate laws and investigation is being conducted,” said Laxmi Prasad, DK Superintendent of Police
