Vasanthpura ward to be named after Ambareesh

Bengaluru: The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike has planned to name the Vasanthpura ward after Rebel Star Ambareesh.

The BBMP has already issued a notification, inviting suggestions and objections to the name change.

The public has 15 days to register their opinions regarding the name change.

The civic body is not clear as to why Vasanthpura has been chosen for the name change, but there are speculations that a ward closer to Bengaluru south or the JP Nagar area is chosen since this would be closest to where the film star had resided.

Ambareesh earned the sobriquet ‘Rebel Star’ for his aggressive roles on the silver screen.
