Hejmady Toll Plaza: Mulki bandh on Feb 5th

Team Udayavani, Feb 1, 2019, 9:56 AM IST

Hejmady:  It has been decided to hold Mulki bandh throughout the hobli on February 5th in protest to the forceful collection of toll from locals at Hejmady till gate.

The bandh is being also held in response to the loss suffered by car owners in Mulki zone due to the toll gates at Hejmady and Surathkal.

Due to the toll collection at Hejmady tollgate, people living just half-a-kilometer from the toll gate are suffering and even after submitting multiple requests, the concerned officials and representatives of the people have failed to respond, it is alleged.

A meeting in this connection is being conducted today to take a proper decision and the meeting is being attended by the MP’s, MLA’s of the undivided districts and officials. If the talks fail, it has been decided to hold a Padayatra to Hejmady toll gate under the leadership of the representatives of the people in protest to the toll plaza and the padayatra will be followed by intensive protest.
