4-year-old dies on spot after being hit by tempo

Kundapur: A 4-year-old boy died on the spot after being hit by a goods tempo near Janata Colony, Goliangady near Siddapur in the taluk on Saturday, February 2.

The victim, Anshik, son of Raghavendra and Pavitra couple of Thirthahalli taluk in Shivamogga district was standing by the roadside along with his mother when the goods tempo hit him.

It is learnt that Pavitra and her two children, including Anshik had come to attend a relative’s wedding ceremony scheduled on Friday. The next day after attending the reception she had alighted from the bus, arranged for the wedding party and was standing by the roadside with her children to cross the road when the mishap took place.

A complaint was filed in Shankarnarayana police station. The police visited the spot and arrested the driver and took the tempo into custody.
