Mangaluru: The task of translating criminal cases registered against Ravi Poojary in different parts of Karnataka and other states into English and local language of Senegal has been started by Indian officials. This process is one of the requirements to hasten the handing over process of underworld don Ravi Poojary, who was arrested in Senegal in West Africa to India.
The completed documents will be submitted to Interpol and Indian embassy at Dakar in Senegal from where it will handed over to the police department of that country. According to sources, the process may take a while and hence it may take several days before Poojary is extradited to India.
Assistance from former underworld element?
During interrogation, the police have found out that a former underworld element had helped Ravi Poojary to get fake passport from Mandya. In order to achieve this, Poojary produced an identity card purported to have been issued by the country, Burkina Faso. It has been revealed that Ravi Poojary had got several documents prepared in his name which would have enabled him to live in several African nations for many more years.
Many newspapers in Senegal have published Ravi Poojary’s arrest on the front page. The media reported that Poojary who was wanted for several criminal cases in India including demanding protection money from Bollywood stars had been arrested in Senegal with assistance from Interpol.
No relation with wife?!
It is being said that Ravi Poojary is suffering from fever after being subjected to the interrogation methods of Senegal police. Meanwhile the police have attempted to contact Poojary’s wife who is hiding in one of the African countries in order to collect more information. But she denied having anything to do with Poojary, inform sources from intelligence department.
