Miffed Congress MLAs attend Budget session

Bengaluru: A day after Congress party sought disqualification of four rebel lawmakers under the Anti-Defection law for not attending the ongoing Karnataka Assembly budget session the Disgruntled Congress MLAs attended the Budget session at Vidhana Soudha on Wednesday.

Addressing the press after returning from Mumbai, Congress MLA Umesh Jadhav, said that he had small issues with party leaders in his constituency of which he will speak at an appropriate time. Now he has come to attend the budget session, he added.

Congress MLA from Athani, Mahesh Kumathalli said that he has small issues with the Congress party leaders and there was some miscommunication. He also said that he was not satisfied with some of the party decisions. As it is a budget session, he had to come back to attend the session, he added.

Water Resources Minister DK Shivakumar reacting to Congress MLAs return, expressed that Good sense prevailed among disgruntled MLAs.

Cracking the whip on the dissident leaders, the Congress Party on Monday, February 11 sought disqualification of four rebel lawmakers under the Anti-Defection law after they skipped the assembly session and legislature party meetings.

The Congress petitioned the assembly speaker Ramesh Kumar, seeking action against lawmakers Ramesh Jarkiholi, Umesh Jadhav, Mahesh Kumathali and B Nagendra weeks after giving them warnings to mend their ways and fall in line.

Congress Legislature Party leader and former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah met the Speaker and gave him a letter along with supporting documents to disqualify the four lawmakers.
