Waiting for JDS supremo to consume poison: Parameshwara

Bengaluru: A day after controversy erupted over remarks made by Hassan BJP MLA Preetham Gowda against JDS supremo HD Deve Gowda, an old video of Deputy Chief Minister G Parameshwara wherein he said he was waiting for Gowda to consume poison has surfaced.

Karnataka BJP twitter handle posted a video of the incident on Thursday.

The incident dates back to 2014 when Parameshwara during a public programme said that Deve Gowda usually makes an emotional speech ahead of every election. “During the state assembly elections Deve Gowda had said that he would consume poison if they do not win by a majority. It is now several days and I am waiting for him to consume poison,” he said.

On the former prime minister’s statement that he wants to be born as a Muslim in his next life, Parmeshwara had asked him not to wait for next life but rather convert himself in this life itself.

It may be recalled that JDS leaders on Wednesday, February 13 had pelted stones at the house of Preetham Gowda after an alleged audio clip of him saying that Deve Gowda will die soon and  JDS party will be history.
