Surathkal: An express bus plying from Udupi to Mangaluru went off-road at Padupanambur due to technical failure on Friday morning February 15th.

Since it was early in the morning, most of the passengers in the bus were students and employees reporting for duty. Due to technical failure, the bus climbed the divider, crossed over to the oncoming traffic road and ended up in a field on that side of the road.

Fortunately, as the bus was climbing the road divider, there was no vehicular traffic on the on opposite side of the road. Also the bus did not topple and landed straight into the roadsside4 field.
