New police commissioner of M’luru Sandeep Patil takes charge

Mangaluru: The 2004 IPS batch officer Sandeep Patil has taken charge as the new Mangaluru police commissioner on Friday February 22nd. Mr Patil replaces T R Suresh who has been transferred as the Joint Commissioner of Police, City Armed Reserve Police, Bengaluru.

Mr Patil hails from Bengaluru and is a law graduate. Saying that he is new to Mangaluru, the new commissioner has remain tight lipped to the questions by reporters regarding his opinion about Mangaluru and his plan on controlling law and order here. He however informed that he would continue the programmes started by the previous commissioner T R Suresh.

“More concentration will be given to maintaining law and order during the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. I will also give importance to controlling drug menace and safety of women,” he assured.
