Max temperature in Karavali rises

Mangaluru: The maximum temperature in Karavali has risen. On Friday the maximum and minimum temperatures recorded at Panambur was 38 and 23 degree Celsius respectively. The same, recorded at Mangaluru International Airport (MIA) was 37.2 and 22 degree Celsius. This is the highest recorded temperatures of this month.

On Friday, hot winds were blowing across Karavali. A day-today increase in maximum temperature is being witnessed with the maximum and minimum temperatures being at 37.3 and 27.4 degree Celsius on Feb 20th and 36.2 and 21.9 degree Celsius on Feb 21st. The highest temperatures recorded in the month of February was in 2017, when the temperatures soared to 38.7 degree Celsius on Feb 16th. The lowest recorded drop in temperature for the same month was 17.5 degree Celsius in 1972.

What is the reason?

Acccording to the explanation provided by the state natural disaster in-charge centre’s scientist Gavaskar Sanga, during the change from winter to summer season, there can be a rise and fall in the temperatures. In the same way, this time there is a rise and fall in the maximum and minimum temperatures.
