Kasaragod: Miscreants tried to set a Congress leader’s house on fire at Uduma on Sunday, February 24. The incident comes within days after two youth Congress activists were murdered in the district.
Miscreants set fire to the house of Congress Uduma block samiti president Rajan Periya.
A week has passed since the brutal murder of two youth Congress activists. Groups belonging to CPM and the Congress have clashed with each other following the murder and often the clashes have turned violent.
The Congress leader was at home along with his family members on Sunday, when the miscreants set his house on fire. In the attack, furniture and other items kept outside the house were gutted.
It is worth noting that post the murder of two Congress activists Kripesh and Sharath Lal, several houses, shops and offices of the CP (M) were set on fire as an act of revenge.
So far, seven persons have been arrested in connection to the murder case by the investigating police team.
