UTK lays foundation stone for development works worth Rs 855 crore

Mangaluru: The foundation stone for various development works within the MCC limits worth Rs 855 crore was laid by the district in-charge minister U T Khader on Tuesday February 26th. The minister also distributed help to the beneficiaries under poverty eradication programme on the same occasion.

Mr Khader addressed the gathering and said, “Foundation stone is being laid today for development works in Mangaluru worth Rs 855 crore. A suitable place has been identified at Kannur to provide houses for 1000 beneficiaries who do not have shelter. Foundation stone will be laid for the construction of 500 houses worth Rs 28.5 crore within a week. Construction of houses has been started at Shakthinagar also after certain problems were resolved. The officials need to work on allotting lands for the construction of houses.” 

Scholarship, financial aid, laptops, wheel chairs and such other amenities worth Rs 42,48,200 was distributed to the selected beneficiaries on the occasion.
