Car hits bridge: 3 dead including a youth from DK

Sira: Three persons including a youth from Dakshina Kannada district lost their lives in an accident in which a car they were travelling in crashed into a bridge near Manangi along the Sira-Hiriyur NH 48 road on the early hours of Tuesday February 26th.

The deceased have been identified as Chetan (24) from Mangaluru and Vinay (28) from K R Puram Bengaluru, who died on the spot. Another victim Likhit (20) died later at Tumakuru district hospital. Other passengers identified as Henamth and Lohit have been grievously injured in the accident.

The car which was travelling from Bengaluru to Udupi had five occupants. It is being said that they youth had consumed alcohol. As the car was over-speeding, the car driver suddenly lost control of the vehicle and rammed into the retaining wall of the bridge, inform police sources.
