Complaint lodged against juice shop owner for harassing BBMP official

Bengaluru: A senior health inspector with Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagar Palike (BBMP) has registered an FIR against an owner of a juice shop for allegedly harassing her.
The accused Prathima, a health inspector with Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagar Palike had gone to inspect the shops and establishments located on the Ramaiah Hospital premises to check on the use of plastic bags. As she entered the juice shop at around 4 pm on Saturday and informed Niranjan – the accused – about the inspection.
Though Prathima showed Niranjan her identity card, he initially refused to comply and prevented her from carrying out inspection. However, Niranjan allowed her to inspect but tried to mentally harras her by passing comments.
Prathima, however, seized the plastic materials and issued him notice and left the shop but Niranjan followed her to the next shop and along with others, began to harass her and prevented her to discharge her duty.
The police have registered an FIR against Niranjan and his associates charging them under Section 509 and also under Section 353 and are investigating of the IPC.
