Tulu Sahitya Academy: Honorary, book awards ceremony on Mar 23

Mangaluru: The honorary and book awards of the Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy for the year 2018 will be held at 10 am on March 23 at Ravindra Kalakshetra, Bengaluru informed the president of Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy, A C Bhandary, who addressed a press meet here on Thursday February 28.

The 2018 honorary awards will be presented to Lalita Rai (Tulu literature), Ratnakar Rao Kavoor (Tulu play) and A K Vijay (Tulu cinema). The award includes a cash price of Rs 50,000, shawl, garland, memento, and citation, explained Bhandary.

The academy’s Book Awards for the year 2018 will be given to Shantaram V Shetty for ‘Manna Bajano’, a collection of poems and to Rajashree Taranath’s ‘Kombu’ tulu novel. The book award consists of Rs 25,000 in cash each, shawl, garland, memento, and citation, he informed.
