Mangaluru: Kadaba and Moodbidri taluks will get an official start on March 7th and the official start will be given by revenue minister R V Deshpande, informed minister U T Khader speaking at a press conference at Circuit House on Saturday March 2nd.

Mangaluru taluk has a population of 10 lakh causing much work pressure and the creation of the new Ullal taluk will bring down this pressure considerably. This is a good step from administration point of view and towards effective implementation of the government’s programmes and its reach them to the people. In the future it will be recognized as Mangaluru rural/Ullal taluk, he explained.

Since Ullal is becoming a separate taluk, it will be getting a separate mini Vidhana Soudha, TP office, registrar office, taluk level Court, 100 beds hospital, playground, Ambedkar Bhavan which will be instrumental in its future development, felt Mr Khader.

With the order from the government, along with the decision on the villages that will be included, a special Tahsildar will be appointed and the taluk should start functioning in another 6-7 months.

The process of joining Farangipet, Pudu, Meramajalu, Kodmane and Thumbay to the taluk will be conducted, he explained.

Comprehensive rule for street lights

A comprehensive rule has been created to manage the street light problem within Mangaluru City Corporation limits and local institutions. Henceforth, LED street lights will be used and its complete maintenance will be the responsibility of tender holder. The rule states the voltage to be used for the street lights on the district’s roads and the inner streets. The maintenance of the street lights will be done only through tender process. Electricity bill and incentives will be provided by the local institutions. Due to this, issues regarding power failure and over billing will be resolved, explained Mr Khader.

Congress worried of the nation, BJP’s concern are the seats

Yeddyurappa’s statements have once again proved that BJP will go to any extent for political mileage. On the issue of the attack on the country’s soldier, Congress worries about the nation, while BJP is only worried about seats, alleged U T Khader.

During the attack on soldiers, instead of being with the country and the family members of the soldiers, a former chief minister spoke politically, which is a black spot, said the minister responding to a question by the reporters.

During the Mumbai attack, taking the responsibility of the attack Congress had brought down the then Chief Minister of Maharashtra. Now the union leaders must show their responsibility. Congratulations to Wing Commander Abhinandan; He has increased the honour of the country on the international level by not divulging any secrets to the enemy forces. Even though the former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh spoke less, his words carried weightage. However in the present situation, whatever the current prime minister speaks may be questioned by the children as well, said Mr Khader.
