Elderly man electrocuted in freak accident

Bengaluru: An elderly man was electrocuted after a speeding car crashed into an electric pole at Dobbspet.
The deceased is identified as Ramakrishna(65), he was a farmer and a resident of Kasarughatta Road in Dobbspet. When the incident took place Ramakrishna was standing near the gate of his residence.
Reportedly, a speeding car rammed into the electric pole on Kasarughatta Road causing a major short-circuit at Ramakrishna’s house, which is 400 metres away from the accident spot. Ramakrishna, who was standing next to the gate of his house, was electrocuted. His wife, who was inside the house, sustained severe injuries and was rushed to a hospital where she is currently being treated.
The driver of the car abandoned the car and fled away after the accident took place, informed sources.
The Dobbspet police have registered a case under IPC Section 304A (death by negligence) and also launched a manhunt to nab the accused.
