Mangaluru: “There is no uncertainty between JD(S) and Congress over seat distribution for the upcoming elections. Our motive is to keep BJP away from power,” said former Prime Minister and national president of JD(S), H D Deve Gowda addressing the media on Sunday March 2nd.

JD(S) which once had its presence in several states, has been reduced into a regional party now, noted Mr Gowda.

The decision to make H D Kumaraswamy s the chief minister was entirely taken by Congress, pointed out Mr Gowda and added that the leaders of JD(S) and Congress will make sure that there is no division or differences within their parties regarding the seat sharing issue between parties for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. He was responding to rumours claiming differences between JD(S) and Congress over seat sharing for LS polls.

“I will not allow any disputes or differences to crop up on this issue. I will make sure that poll understanding between the two parties for Lok Sabha election will not face any danger. I have sought 12 Lok Sabha constituencies for my party. As per the current seat sharing arrangement for ministry, boards and corporations, our party is eligible for 30 percent quota,” said Gowda.

“There is nothing wrong in expecting ticket. Nikhil Gowda is also one of the aspirants from Mandya. It is up to high command to take the final call,” said the former prime minister on Sumalatha demanding a ticket in Mandya.

“Along with Nikhil Gowda, Prajwal Revanna is also likely to contest the upcoming elections from Hassan constituency. Both are entering politics according to the wish of people. I will not oppose it,” opinioned Mr Gowda.

“Prime Minister Narendra Modi praises himself during his speeches for providing stable government. Let us not forget that even late Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Manmohan Singh also provided stable government,” he reminded.
