MIT faculty’s book on journey into Himalayas released

Manipal: “Uncharted: My journey into the Himalayas” authored by Ganesh Nayak, the 152nd publication of Manipal Universal Press was released by Dr Vinod V Thomas, Registrar-Evaluation, Manipal Academy of Higher Education on Saturday at Manipal Institute of Technology here.
The book explores life, its challenges and great adventures as the author recalls his days as a student. He doesn’t miss out on his battle with smoking and the great adventures as a cyclist. It captures Ganesh’s journey from being a student at Manipal Institute of Technology to a faculty member at MIT.
Ganesh, a faculty at MIT, read a few paras related to his struggle with a deep desire to stub out smoking, a bit of his adventures to the Himalayas and the more recent Kudremukh trip with students.
Dr Srikant Rao, Director, MIT Manipal talked about how Ganesh is a source of inspiration to the student community here. How he changed his lifestyle to lead a more healthy and rewarding life is an example for every student to follow. Joint Director, MIT, Dr B H Venkataram Pai and Head of Department of Instrumentation and Control Engineering, Dr Dayanand Nair also addressed the gathering.
Dr Praveen Shetty welcomed the gathering. Anish Pai, president of MIT’s official cycling club, Human Powered Endeavours gave the vote of thanks.
