Bengaluru: A mob of ten goons vandalised a bakery in Bengaluru after the Bakery owner’s brother hailed Pakistani Army on his Facebook account following their treatment of Wg Cdr Abhinandan Varthaman, who was rescued from a mob in the Pakistani territory.
Abdul Saleem hailing from Kerala on his facebook page allegedly added a filter “I Stand With Pakistani Army” to his profile picture. This post of his irked some of the youth, who on Monday, March 4 vandalised Plaza Bakery run by Abdul Saleem’s brother Muneer.
Meanwhile, the filter image posted by Saleem, which had the image of an armed Pakistani soldier, went viral and eventually a suo motu complaint was filed by the police against him for supporting the Pakistani Army.
Following the incident, the police have registered a case of rioting under Section 146 of the IPC against the mob based on a complaint filed by Arasappa, the owner of the building where the bakery is located. However, the cops are yet to make any arrests.
On February 23, a branch of Karachi Bakery in Indira Nagar was vandalised by miscreants and also threatened the owners to change or cover Karachi in the bakery’s name.
