Mandya If certain sources are to be believed,  wife of the slain soldier from Gudigere in Maddur taluk will be contesting in the coming Lok Sabha election from Mandya Constituency.

While it is now certain that Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy’s son Nikhil Gowda will contest from Mandya, BSP party leaders are planning to field Kalavathi, Guru’s wife as their candidate from Mandya Lok Sabha Constituency against Nikhil Gowda.

It is learnt that Dwarakanath, Backward Classes leader has already submitted a letter to BSP president seeking permission to field Kalavathi as their party candidate.

On the other hand with the Congress having ruled out fielding Sumalatha from the Mandya Lok Sabha constituency, saying that the seat would go to its coalition partner JD(S), clamour has been growing within the BJP to induct her and field her in the seat.
