Maninalkur: Woman attempts to sell her son

Punjalakatte: In an incident that took place at Nelyapalke in Maninalkur village, a woman attempted to sell her son on March 7th.

The gram panchayat here received information that a local woman had given birth to twins, of which one was a son whom the woman attempting to sell to an acquaintance. In this backdrop, the rural police and the woman and child development department officials conducted a joint operation and gathered information. A meeting in this connection was conducted by the child protection committee which was participated by the members of the local GP and discussions were held regarding the future legal process.

A complaint has been given to the police regarding the woman attempting to sell her one months old baby, informed the officials of the women and child development department.  

The operation was conducted by GP vice president Dinesh, PDO Vasanti, women and child development department supervisor Sujata, child protection committee members and Bantwal rural police.
