Scooter accident: Pedestrian dies

Mangaluru: Sunny Agustine (60), who was crossing the road near Kalpane in Kulashekar died after being hit by a scooter on Thursday night.

Mr Agustine was a resident of Kalpane in Kulashekar. In the night around 8:20 pm, he was attempting to cross the road in front of the local Souza Xerox shop when a scooter going towards Moodbidri from the city rammed into him. The impact of the collision was such that, Mr Agustine was thrown to the road suffering grievous head injuries. He was rushed to a private hospital in the city where he breathed his last.

The scooter rider is identified as A M Asrara from Addur who also suffered injuries in the accident. He is receiving treatment at a private hospital.

Traffic west police have registered a case in this connection.
