13-yr-old boy suffocates to death after LPG cylinder leaks

Bengaluru: In a tragic incident a 13-year-old boy died due to suffocation following an LPG cylinder leak at their residence on Friday, March 8.
The deceased has been identified as Sameer, son of Kalavathi, who worked as a housemaid for the living.
It is gathered that the incident took place Kalavathi left for work, leaving her two sons at home and came to light only when Kalavathi returned back home and smelt of LPG gas.
Kalavathi as usual left for work at 5 AM after locking the house from outside and had instructed Sameer to take care of Saheer if he wakes up before she returns. Meanwhile, the LPG cylinder inside their house leaked while the brothers were asleep.
When Kalavathi returned back home and smelt of LPG gas, she immedialty ran to check and found her sons lying unconscious. However with the help of neighbours, they have rushed them to the hospital, but the doctors declared Sameer brought dead. Whle his five-year-old brother Saheer survived and is undergoing treatment at St. John’s hospital. His condition is said to be critical.
The HAL police have registered a case in this regard.
