LS polls: DK, Udupi-Chikkamagaluru votes on Apr 18

Mangaluru: The schedule for the high-voltage Lok Sabha elections was announced by the Election Commission (EC) on Sunday, March 10. Polling in Karnataka will be held in two phases. the first phase will include 14 constituencies on April 18th and the remaining 14 constituencies will vote during the second phase on April 23rd.
Polling on April 18th will include the following constituencies including Dakshina Kannada, Udupi-Chikkamagaluru, Hassan, Chitradurga, Tumakuru, Mandya, Mysuru, Chamarajanagar, Bengaluru rural, Bengaluru north, Bengaluru central, Bengaluru south, Chikkaballapur and Kolar constituencies.
Polling on April 23rd will include Chikkodi, Belagavi, Bagalkote, Bijapur, Gulbarga, Raichur, Bidar, Koppal, Ballari, Haveri, Dharwad, Uttar Kannada, Davangere and Shivamogga constituencies.
7 phases of LS polls
This times Lok Sabha election will be held in seven phases and will be held on April 11th, 18th, 23rd, 29th and on May 6th, 12th and 19th respectively. The election results will be announced on May 23rd. The last date of nomination of phase 1 is March 25th.
Simultaneous elections
The EC announced that assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh will also be held along with the Lok Sabha polls. The present Lok Sabha term ends on June 3rd.
