Bengaluru: All set to take the political plunge, actor Sumalatha Ambareesh on Tuesday, March 12 clarified that she will definitely contest from Mandya Lok Sabha constituency and there is no chance of her retreating from poll fray.

Sumalatha in her Facebook post mentioned that she is committed to serving the people of Mandya, but some vested interests are conspiring to divert the people of Mandya.

Clearing rumours that she won’t be contesting from Mandya Lok Sabha constituency and will be withdrawing from the poll fray on the backdrop of Congress leaders not supporting her she said that she does not need the support of any party to contest the election, she only needs support and blessings of the people.

Sumalatha, widow of celebrated Kannada actor Ambareesh, who was a three-time MP from Mandya, has disturbed the political equation with her insistence on contesting from Mandya Lok Sabha constituency, upsetting calculations of ruling coalition partners Congress and JDS.
