Alleged rape of minor: Social worker, accomplice arrested

Kundapur: The secretary of a trust and another person has been arrested by Kota police on charges of rape of orphaned minor girls at Spoorthidhama in Kedur.

The arrested are identified as Keshava Koteshwar, secretary of Spoorthidhama was arrested on Wednesday night. The other suspect is Hanumanthappa, a resident of Nooji resident and was arrested on Tuesday night. The information revealed by him led to the arrest of Keshava. The accused have been produced in the Court.

Kota station police came across ten-year-old girl by chance when she came searching for her guardians from Spoorthidhama. She revealed that she would never go back to Spoorthidhama as young men used to come there and sexually harass her.

Shocking information surfaced when the girl informed that Hanumanthappa used to come inside Spoorthidhama with the help of a rope, give biryani to the children at the trust, persuade and rape them. The girl however only named Hanumanthappa and not Keshava. During further investigation, five more children revealed instances of children being raped here, and one accused Keshava of the act. He has been booked under POCSO Act.
