Kasaragod: Kerala State Police Superintendent has notified all petrol bunks to not to provide petrol, diesel in cans or bottles. This order has been passed since it is dangerous to transport vehicle fuel in bottles or cans.
Recently in Tiruvalla, a youth threw petrol on a girl and set her on fire. The youth who had committed this grotesque crime had procured petrol in two bottles from a fuel station. Post this incident, the police are taking precautions. Besides, when fuel in being transported in a vehicle, it can catch fire due to the use of a mobile phone and in this backdrop, the police have come forward with this tough action.
Police will initiate action against those caught transporting fuel in bottles or cans and also the petrol bunk which provided the fuel. In inevitable situations, it is advised to take permission from the police.
