Human chain to spread awareness on polling
On April 7th, along the beach from Talapady to Sasihitlu (40 kms)

Mangaluru: All preparations are being conducted for organizing a massive 40 km long human chain along the beach from Talapady to Sasihitlu on April 7th with the aim to spread awareness on voting among the voters. The event is being organized by the district SVEEP committee, informed DK Deputy Commissioner Sasikanth Senthil speaking at the meeting conducted at the ZP hall for educational institutions and other organisations on Saturday.
All attempts are being made to make this a historical event. On Apr 7th, people will be gathered along the beach at 4 pm in the evening and the human chain will begin from 5 pm. The human chain will connect from Talapady to Sasihitlu, he said.
Speaking on the occasion, district SVEEP president and ZP CEO Dr Selbamani said, discussions have already been held with various educational institutions and other organisations. The general public will participate in the human chain event. The human chain will be connected via rope at area that are inaccessible like the sea and the backwaters. Cultural programmes and voter awareness programmes will be conducted. An in-charge official will be appointed for the human chain at a regular distance of 1 km, he informed.
He also requested that all educational institutions, voluntary institutions, other organizations and the general public to cooperate and participate in this historical event.
