Bantwal: There is no definite information regarding the cause for the suicide by father and his daughter at a rented flat near BC road on Saturday, informed Bantwal Town Police Inspector Chandrashekhar. Meanwhile there is a question if all three members of the family had attempted a mass suicide, and a death note supporting this fact has been found in the house.

On Sunday, the corpses of the deceased duo was handed over to the family after autopsy was conducted on them at Deralakatte hospital.

The police have refrained from questioning the Hemavati, wife of the deceased since she is suffering from a shock. The police have decided to question her after she recovers from the shock.

Hemavati had informed the tragedy first to the tuition teacher living beneath their flat and it is learnt that then, Hemavati was in a state of total fright.

Bury us together

Since the incident occurred when Hemavati was at home has given rise to several questions. The police suspect that the trio had decided to consume the poison together and at the last moment, Hemavati might have abstained from consuming the poison. A death note in the handwriting of the deceased man has been found at the location which states. “Bury the three of us, together.” The police have positively identified the handwriting, but the note states no reason behind the extreme step. Hence, there is also a suspicion that it could be a mass suicide. The investigation will be conducted based on the hospital report, inform the police.
