Seven arrested for illegal transportation of sand

Kundapur: Kundapur police arrested seven persons involved in illegal transportation of sand from Mangaluru to Bhatkal and confiscated the sand-laden lorry and an Innova car on Monday, March 25

Abdul Sattar (23), Manjunath Dammooru (19), Srikanth (20), Sharanappa (19), Rajesh Shetty (40), Sukesh Kotian (34) and Naushad Ali VV (21) are the arrested persons.

The patrolling police managed to nab the accused as they tried to flee the spot after halting a little further from the police personnel. Meanwhile the other arrested persons who were travelling in an Innova car just behind the lorry too tried to escape but in vain.

Kundapur police registered a case.
