Contesting to send a message to the High Command: Shenoy

Udupi: “The high command has taken the wrong decision. The party has discarded a worker like me. In order to send this message to the high command, I am contesting as an independent candidate. This is my protest against the high command, said AICC member and Congress party ticket aspirant Amrith Shenoy at a press conference.

“There is enough work put in by workers like me to build the party. But the high command has taken the decision without seeking our opinion. The minds of the Congress voters is not willing to cast their vote to the symbol of the JD(S). In case JD(S) was strong here and therefore the constituency was provided to them, then I would have supported. But JD(S) does not have votes here. It does not have a popular candidate here. Now it is becoming difficult to answer the questions of Congress party workers. If my contesting is against the party, I’ll be resigning from AICC membership,” said Mr Shenoy.
