Mangaluru: Most animal lovers in Mangaluru would be familiar with Animal Care Trust, a shelter for abandoned and injured animals and the relentless efforts of its volunteers to compassionately care for these sentient beings.

While the shelter and several of their rescue efforts have been praised on social media, it faces the daunting task of raising funds for the same. Now, you can help ACT raise funds and at the same time be entertained. All you need to do is, book a ticket for the 10 am show for Junglee movie at Bharath Mall.

Yes, you read it right!! The shelter has come up with this innovative fundraiser and notably, the timing of this offer coincides with summer vacations when families would plan to spend some quality with each other.

The movie is about a military veteran who comes home to his father’s elephant reserve and has to fight an international poaching ring to save elephants. It is directed by Chuck Russell a popular Hollywood director ( maker of The Mask, The Scorpion King etc.) and has Vidyut Jammwal in the lead role. This is suitable for all age groups.

Speaking to Udayavani English, Suma Nayak trustee of Animal Care Trust said that the main intention of this initiative is to raise funds to conduct Animal Birth Control for the Mangalore City Corporation and its other rescue and rehabilitation activities.

She further added that as this is the first time that they have embarked such initiative for a fundraiser. They have booked a screen at the Big Cinemas, Bharath Mall and are expecting a house full show.

When asked whether they will be continuing this initiative with only animal-related movies she answered in the negative stating that their main intention is to raise funds and for this purpose, they will not be constrained to only animal-related movies.
