Youth Congress Gen Secy resigns over party ticket to Mithun Rai

Mangaluru: Alleging that the Congress party has ignored the Billawa community while giving a ticket to Mithun Rai for the Lok Sabha elections, Mangaluru South Assembly constituency’s Youth Congress General Secretary Karthik Poojary submitted his resignation and proclaimed support for the BJP party.
Karthik who has been serving as the general secretary of the Youth Congress in Mangaluru Assembly constituency for the past two years has in a press release claimed that the Billawa community has not gotten its due recognition in the Congress party. It further stated that the opinion of veteran Congress leader, B Janardhana Poojary, who also happens to be a leader of Billawa community was not sought before finalising Mithun Rai’s name.
Karthik also alleged that Rai, had not taken any measures to strengthen the party while he served as the Youth Congress president. He alleged that Rai never allowed others to grow in the party, except few of his associates.
Speaking to media persons, Karthik Poojary said that he has decided to support Modi.
