Mangaluru: As an Air India flight from Mangaluru to Mumbai was cancelled due to technical reasons, the passengers were compelled to wait for 6 hours at the airport and since the flight was not possible, the passengers were sent to a hotel.
This flight should have left for Mumbai at 12:40 on Tuesday. However, due to a technical problem, the flight timings were postponed. But the passengers waiting in the airport were not given proper information. Because of this, more than 100 passengers suffered. Of them, they were some passengers who had to catch connecting flights to other countries from Mumbai. Because of the flight cancellation, they missed their connecting flights.
Amidst this, Air India had assured in the afternoon that they would provide an alternative facility. But, even till 6 pm in the evening, no alternate flight was arranged. Due to this, the passengers were compelled to wait for 6 hours in the hospital. Finally, Air India cancelled its flight for the day. Later, all the passengers were provided with rooms at a private hotel in the city by Air India.
Air India has assured that a fight to Mumbai will be provided to the passengers at 6 am on Wednesday morning.
