Kaup: A garment store at Udyavar here was raided by the election officials on the suspicion that  the store was selling saris carrying images of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday April 2.

The raid was conducted at Jayalaxmi Silks after the election flying squad found a bill being issued by the store with ‘Modi sari’ mentioned it it.

According to sources, the owner of the shop refused to cooperate with the election squad when the latter attempted the raid. Hence, the police were called, post which the raid was conducted. The election officials and police came in three vehicles and the raid lasted from 5 pm to around 9.30 pm.
