Mangaluru: “Former district in-charge minister Ramanath Rai, MLA’s Abhaychandra Jain and J R Lobo are the main reason for the delay in Mangaluru-Karkala four lane national highway work,” blamed BJP Mangaluru Lok Sabha candidate Nalin Kumar Kateel speaking at a press meet during his campaign on Wednesday April 3rd.
“The three leaders wanted it to be two-lane and also wanted to physically assault the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) officials during an important meeting,” he alleged and claimed that he had the necessary proof and was ready for a debate.
“These leaders were worried that the land belonging to their near and dear ones would be acquired during the four-laning. Although the project is of the union government, the land acquisition is taken care by the state government, but they did not allow it. However, the present state Congress-JD(S) coalition government has given the permission and the process will begin from September 2019 as per the plans,” he informed.
“The old Gurpur bridge will be replaced by a new one,” he added.
