Mangaluru: “We along with other like-minded parties are confident that we will defeat BJP. The reason behind the confidence is that we have delivered whenever Congress got the responsibility in state and central. In the last five years,” said KPCC vice president V R Sudarshan expressing confidence of Congress and like-minded parties defeating BJP in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

“In the last five years, NDA government has created an atmosphere of hatred and anxiety in the entire country which is their biggest achievement. The administration of NDA government is anti- people and anti-farmers. In the year 2003-04 when BJP was in power, only Rs 83,000 crore was released for farmers. But when UPA was in power Rs 8 lakh crore was released for farmers,” he pointed out.

“NDA government has bought in ‘New India’ concept which is all about hatred and anxiety. We want modern India, the concept developed by Jawaharlal Nehru, Mahatma Gandhi and Dr B R Ambedkar. We want to rebuild that concept and make it effective,” he added.

“We released our manifesto which was prepared based on ground reality and by collecting inputs interacting with people across the country,” he explained speaking on Congress’ manifesto.

“Demonetisation was done on November 8, 2016 to irradiate black money, fake currency, naxal issue and terrorism. Now it has been two years and there is no count on how much effective was this move. Under NDA government, incidents like Amarnath attack, parliament attack, Godhra incident, URI, and Pathankot attack and many more took place. To save itself, NDA government blames others and shows patriotism,” he added.
