Apr 13-16: Orchid exhibition and sale at Kadri Park

Mangaluru: An orchid exhibition cum sale has been organized at Kadri Park by Alia Orchid institution from April 13 to 16th informed Queeny Lasrado of the institution at the press meet.

By growing the plants from the seedling stage to initial flower bearing stage, the institution is putting in efforts to provide the public with hybrid orchid saplings that grow in the Karavali’s weather. The institution is importing small orchid plants from Thailand and Malaysia for the purpose. Alia Orchid Care is a registered with the Horticulture Department of the government, she informed.

The exhibition cum sale will have almost 5,000 orchid, 1,000 anthurium and 500 adenium saplings on display. Peacock colours will be displayed by using over 1,200 stems of the orchid flowers. A lucky draw will be conducted every evening and the winner will be provided with an orchid sapling, she said.
