Lorry hits auto rickshaw; one dead, two critical

Udupi: An auto rickshaw river lost his life after his rickshaw was hit by a speeding lorry along Ambagilu-Perampalli road on Tuesday. The deceased driver is identified as Sendil Kuma (33).

Sendil was driving the auto rickshaw along with two passengers at 12:45 pm in the afternoon, en route from Manipal to Ambagilu when a speeding lorry coming from the opposite side collided with the auto rickshaw near Sham Circle. The impact of the collision grievously injured all the occupants of the auto rickshaw.

The injured Sendil was rushed to the hospital where he breather his last. Two passengers in the auto rickshaw identified as Laxmi (30) and Kuppaswami (56) suffered serious injuries and are admitted to a hospital.

It is alleged that the lorry was being driven ash and negligently which led to the accident. A case in this connection has been registered with the traffic police here. The lorry driver abandoned the vehicle after accident and is currently on the run.
