Challenge vote at Ellur polling booth: Case registered

Padubidri: Veerendra Lancy Kumar D’Souza who is voter listed in the polling booth at Ellur near Padubidri complained that the vote he had exercised had gone to another candidate. Hence, he was allowed to excercise his right of challenge by casting his vote in the presence of agents of different candidates. However, post his vote it was ascertained that the vote was correctly accounted for.
A case has been registered under Representation of People Act’s 49M A section based on the complaint from the polling booth officials at Padubidri. The accused has been handed over to Padubidri police, informed Kaup taluk Election Officer Nagaraj to ‘Udayavani’.
