Belthangady: Married woman commits suicide at home

Dharmasthala: A married woman who had come to her mother’s house in the backdrop to cast her vote for the Lok Sabha election committed suicide by hanging at Chandragiri near Dharmasthala on Thursday April 18th.
The deceased woman has been identified as Nirata (26), a resident of Mundruppadi Chandragiri in Dharmasthala village. She had married five years back and was living with her husband at Moodbidri. It is learnt that she was plagued by the thought of not having conceived a child so far.
On Thursday she had come to her house near Dharmasthala to exercise her franchise post which she carried out the act at around 1:30 pm in the afternoon.
It is being said that before taking the extreme step, she had called her brother and informed that she was finding her life to be unbearable. Realizing the gravity of the situation, he rushed to the house and had to break open the door to the room only to find her hanging corpse, is the information provided in the complaint to the police.
A case in this regard has been registered with Dharmasthala police station.
