Incense stick sets house on fire in Moodbidri
Rs 3 lakh in loss estimated

Moodbidri: A house was gutted at Ontikatte within the limits of the town municipality. The mishap was realized on Saturday morning when Salim living in the neighbouring house saw the house up in flames.
The fire consumed the TV, fans, cupboards, cloth, Rs 4,000 cash and records of the property in its wake and totally destroyed the house belonging to Sadiq.
Sadiq’s wife had succumbed to an illness 50 days ago and since then he was living along with his children Safa Banu and Sambreena Banu at a relative’s house at Kotebagilu.
A few days ago, the electricity connection to the house had been disconnected. Sadiq had visited the house on Friday April 19th and was at the house till 8 pm. Before leaving the house, he had kit an incense stick inside the house.
An estimated loss of Rs 3 lakh has resulted due to the mishap.
