Non-availability of workers likely to affect waste collection in city

Mangaluru: As outstation employees of Anthony Waste Handling Cell Pvt Ltd have availed leave for exercising their franchise, the door-to-door waste collection in the city is likely to be impacted for the next two days, said a company official.
The second phase of polling for 14 Lok Sabha seats in Karnataka was held on April 23.
The employees who have availed leave to visit their hometown to cast votes are likely to return on Thursday or Friday.
Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner S Sasikanth Senthil who was informed of the situation has said that he would direct the company to take alternate measures so city residents are not inconvenienced.
