Tipper-scooter collision claims youth’s life

Ullal/Bantwal: A collision between a tipper lorry and a scooter claimed the life of a youth at Muloor near Ira on Thursday evening, April 25.

Sinan (18) from Manchi Kayyur lost his life in the mishap. Jahir, who was riding pillion in the scooter suffered grievous injuries and is currently admitted to Yenepoya Hospital in Deralakatte.

Apparently, the deceased was riding from Thokkottu to Ira when the tragedy occurred. The lorry which hit the scooter dragged it along for a few meters. The accident caused a traffic block along Muloor-Ira road. The locals rushed to the rescue of the injured and cleared the road.
