Sri Lanka blasts: High-Alert along Karavali extended

Mangaluru: In the backdrop of the serial bomb blasts that shook Sri Lanka recently, the high-alert announced along the coast of India, especially along the west coast has been further extended. The Coastal Security Police (CSP) officials and staff have become alert and increased vigilance along the coast from Goa to Kerala.

There are 9 CSP police stations in the state spread from Mangaluru to Karwar and the central office is at Malpe in Udupi. The officials and staff of all the stations are patrolling the length of the coast within their jurisdictions with fully equipped boats. They are conducting inspections on suspects at landing points along the coast including the bunders.

The jurisdiction of the CSP includes 12 nautical miles of the sea from the coast and they are conducting inspection on all suspicious fishing boats. Along with this, the CSP is taking action by exchanging information with the Indian Coast Guard, Navy, Air force and the officials of the Customs Department.

The police within Mangaluru police commissionerate are conducting inspection and maintaining a strict eye at all public places within and around Mangaluru city including business establishments, ports, airports, trains stations, bus stops, malls and other places with greater presence of the people.

Precaution in KSRTC

In the backdrop of the terrorist attack, precautionary measures have been taken at all the bus stands of KSRTC with additional inspection and precaution.
